All nine rooms have their own bathroom with hot showers, and are equipped with wireless internet and a (ceiling) fan. The tropical breeze that blows through the windows allows for a cool but comfortable temperature in the rooms. Two rooms has additional air conditioning.
As one of the highest buildings in the neighborhood, La Creole will surely catch you eye. The historic front half of our hostel dates back to the 19th century. About 30 years ago it was used as a guesthouse with the name ‘La Creole’. When it closed its doors for guests, the building was abandoned for nearly 10 years until a very recent renovation which started in 2009 brought it back to its original purpose: Hostel La Creole, but with all the comfort you expect from a hostel nowadays at low rates.
Because of the history of the building, Hostel La Creole offers characteristic rooms of different sizes.
There are a total of 5 rooms in the front half of our hostel. One of them is the dormitory.
The second part of our hostel was added in the seventies. During the renovation of this part, we were able to build 4 comfortable rooms (fit for 2 people), which open up on a courtyard. This type of courtyard is called a “patio” on this side of the globe. This area gives our hostel a homely atmosphere where you can relax and meet other adventurous travelers like yourself. On this side of the building you will also find the lounge room where you can eat your free* breakfast. There is also a fully equipped kitchen located. You are welcome to make use of the kitchen facilities, keeping it low budget for our guests.
